This is the drawing I did for since he won the contest: [link] This drawing is of his OC, Isuara The Dreampainter: [link]
I hope you enjoy it Hoolemere, sorry for being so late as this is the first request/ commission I have ever done and I have to admit I am not very good at it. Lulz.
Programs: Photoshop CS5 - Touched the image up.
Tools: 240g 25 x 35.5cm white canvas sheet 0.5mm Mechanical pencil White chalk pastel pencil Charcoal pencil Black pro marker Black pen since my pro marker died on me half way through I used my Sigma Macros lens to take a picture of this as it captured the details the best.
Alright, before I start I have to say that I tried really, REALLY hard to find something to really point out, but alas I have failed. This is probably one of your best traditional pieces, so cheers to the artist for a wonderful job. The image itself is quite vibrant, yet dark, and the moon in the background even looks like it is glowing! Nearly every detail was perfectly executed, with the exception of some of the facial region (I needed a magnifying glass to catch, so it really is not much you have to worry about). Even the focus of the deviation is different, and pushed more towered the mid-right section. This gives it the feel of motion and really brings out the flying motion of the owl. I also love what you did with the clouds and how they almost clash with the realism of the owl. It's almost like the owl is flying through a different realm of existence, surrounded by mystifying streams that glow in the moonlight. Wonderfully done! Wonderful! The only rating this image could receive is a 5 star! PERIOD!
Thank you. Yeah, I got completely covered in charcoal for this one, I had an itch on my face, so yeah, went all over my face too and up to my elbows somehow.
Lol, my nose always decides it has an itch when I have glue/paint/whatever on my fingers. *after art class* Friend: "You've got something on your-" Me: "I KNOW!"
Thank you, I should draw one of your characters one day as I might have a lot of free time this year until I start University again in 2013 because of a few issues I had with my animation course. Also, this year I might try and do Falconry.
When I was drawing this piece I was listening to this: [link] I can see it had an influence on the piece which I am quite happy about.
